Sony Confirms New 'Insidious' Film With Official 2025 Release Date
Marking the sixth installment in the horror franchise.
A new horror movie is on the horizon. The popular Insidious franchise is getting a sixth installment next year from Blumhouse Productions. Co-produced by Screen Gems, Sony has confirmed that the newest addition to the horror franchise will arrive late next summer.
Few details have been revealed about the upcoming film, including whether or not series regulars Patrick Wilson and Leigh Whannell will be involved. The sixth installment announcement comes after the reveal of the series spin-off Thread: An Insidious Tale directed by Jeremy Slater with Many Moore and Kumail Nanjiani are slated to star. Insidious 6 comes after last year’s Insidious: The Red Door which saw Wilson and Ty Simpkins make their return. The fifth film hit $82 million USD at the domestic box office and $189 million USD globally at the summer box office.
The franchise first launched in 2010 with an original directed by James Wan. The first film debuted over with over $370 million USD globally. While casting and film leads have not been confirmed, Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions have been behind each of the Insidious installments.
