Post Malone keeps on climbing. The artist has earned his second No. 1 single of the year with his new song “I Had Some Help” with country artist Morgan Wallen. Hitting the top of the Billboard Hot 100. The first time he appeared at No. 1 this year was in April when Taylor Swift released their single “Fortnight” in her juggernaut album,
The Tortured Poets Department, which still remains as a Top 10 single this week.

Wallen and Malone’s country anthem saw the duo tease the collaboration in a duet performance during Wallen’s Stagecoach Festival performance. This week, it it opened with 76.4 million streams, surpassing “Fornight” as the song with the most single-week streams in 2024. The track marks the second country song after Texas Hold ‘Em” by Beyoncé to make it to the top of the Hot 100 list this year. Kendrick Lamar‘s hard-hitting Drake diss “Not Like Us” moves to No. 2 while Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby” hits No. 3. Shaboozey’s “Bar Song (Tipsy)” arrives at No. 4, seeing another country artist in the mix.

Billboard also reported that Post Malone now has six No. 1 singles on the Hot 100 list. The first being “Rockstar” featuring 21 Savage in 2017, the next “Psycho” with Ty Doll$ign, “Sunflower” with Swae Lee and “Circles” in 2019 and this year, “Fornight” with Swift and now “I Had Some Help” with Wallen. It’s clear that country is having a moment. Even Wallen’s 2023 record One Thing at a Time returns to No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and his 2021 album Dangerous: The Double Album comes in at No. 5. It remains to be seen how Malone’s country track continues to do in the future.
