Jacob & Co. Unveils Ultra-Rare Astronomia Art "Ring of Fire" Timepiece
An edition of four, commemorating the “Ring of Fire” heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk.
Jacob & Co. has unveiled a new ultra-limited edition timepiece as part of its Astronomia Art collection, the “Ring of Fire.” This special watch, limited to just four examples, honors the monumental undisputed heavyweight title bout between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, set to take place on May 18.
As a token of appreciation, Fury and Usyk will each receive one of the limited-edition watches, symbolizing their roles in what is hailed as the first undisputed heavyweight title fight of the 21st century. However, one of the four examples will be available to purchase via a Sotheby’s hosted auction this week, with all proceeds generously set to be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation International.
Commissioned by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, the four unique watches are each valued at around $650,000 USD. These watches celebrate a key moment in sports history and also serve as a lasting connection to the epic Fury vs. Usyk showdown. “This is an incredible and rare opportunity to own a piece of boxing and sporting history,” remarked Alalshikh, emphasizing the significance of the event and the value of the watches.
Each 50-mm rose gold Astronomia Art “Ring of Fire” timepiece showcases exquisite craftsmanship. The watches feature miniature three-dimensional figures of Fury and Usyk, visible from all angles and include tiny boxing gloves with the fighters’ autographs. The design also pays tribute to the World Boxing Council (WBC) with a unique green-colored hour and minute dial, reminiscent of the champion belt and are finished with a green alligator strap.
The timepieces’ most captivating feature is their double-axis flying tourbillon, which orchestrates the rotation of the scene, adding a dynamic element to the already intricate design.
