The 10th Edition of Only Watch officially took place at Geneva’s Palexpo on Friday. Despite enduring controversies that led to delays and brands dropping out, the biennial auction went on smoothly and successfully concluded.
Collectors, brands, journalists and influencers from all over the world attended the auction, where a total of 47 lots were presented under Christie’s hammer. At the end of the auction, Only Watch has raised 28.3 million CHF (around $31.1 million USD) for support of research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
From the total amount raised, more than half the money comes from the stellar sale of Patek Philippe’s Ref. 6301A-010, a Rare Handcrafts Grande and Petite Sonnerie Minute Repeater. As the headliner for Only Watch, this reference alone was sold for 15.7 million CHF (approximately $17.3 million USD), which far exceeded its initial estimation of 1.5 – 1.8 million CHF.
Other noteworthy sales include F.P. Journe’s Chronomètre Furtif Bleu, which raised 2 million CHF and Rexhep Rexhepi’s Chronomètre Antimagnétique which was sold for 2.1 million CHF. A recording of the auction’s livestream can be viewed on the Only Watch official YouTube channel.
