The Dsquared2 Man Is a Canadian Hiker, a Midnight Cowboy and a Sporty Urbanite for Resort 2025

Ahead of their Spring 2025 runway in Milan, twin designers Dean and Dan Caten define who exactly the Dsquared2 man is — in all of his different plotlines.

Known for their conversation-sparking evening ensembles, hyper-masculine outerwear, double-take-worthy denim and a whole lot of glitz and glamour, twin designers Dean and Dan Caten seized the Resort 2025 season as an opportunity to truly hone in on who exactly the Dsquared2 man is — in all of his campy iterations.

On the weekends, the co-creative directors envision their sartorial man on some serious hiking trails in the Canadian outdoors. The beginning of the line is filled with expressive, mixed-denim-and-nylon jackets and cargo shorts, as well as stonewashed, vintage-inspired tees with graphics reading “Adventure Is Calling.” Here, Dsquared2 introduces the next installment in its collaboration with Invicta, which includes co-brand T-shirts inspired by the luxury label’s heritage in exploration. Meanwhile, earth-toned backpacks, beltbags and hats keep functionality at the top of mind, with playful patches taking after Dsquared2’s usual signage.

On a walk through the city, Dean and Dan see the Dsquared2 man as a champion of sporty streetwear. He wears denim jackets and pants splattered with khaki camouflage prints, bomber jackets built with patch pockets and ribbed cuffs, white anoraks made of parachute-weight nylon, and long-sleeve tops with deep-cut necks. He also has a penchant for technicality: cut-away denim designs, for instance, reveal their inner linings to produce double-fabric silhouettes, and casual shorts are kept secure with utility belts that swing down to the mid-thigh.

“Nighttime falls, and this guy is a Midnight Cowboy,” the designers wrote in their collection notes. For an evening on the town, the Caten brothers’ muse prefers a suit — one tinged with just a shot of “yeehaw.” Shirting follows Western codes with bead-covered lace yokes, and classic pleated pants are clasped together with big-buckled silver belts. Several silhouettes trade dress pants for crystal-clad denim, and a tuxedo coat takes after torn jeans, too. But in classic D&D fashion, black and gold sequins take over an entire evening jacket and vest to form two of the line’s many hero pieces. It wouldn’t be a Dsquared2 collection without a little sparkle.
