Denon Leads With Personalized Audio for Denon PerL and PerL Pro Wireless Earbuds
Creating a “hearing profile” for its wearer.

Japanese audio company Denon is at the forefront of personalized audio. While virtually every earbud on the market today claims to offer some form of 360-degree spatial audio, Denon has taken the technology a step further with its new duo of wireless earbuds, the PerL and PerL Pro.
Both pairs were born out of Denon’s partnership with the health tech company Masimo, which essentially develops noninvasive ways to monitor patient’s health data, such as wearables. The Denon models use Masimo’s acoustic tech to monitor its wearer’s ear.
The buds are capable of measuring the outer, middle and inner ear to gauge where a wearer best hears music – and potential areas in which their hearing isn’t the strongest. Denon’s AI then builds a “hearing profile” for the user and adjusts the buds to meet their needs and deliver a pristine music listening experience. One can then use the Denon app to view their own hearing profile.
While both the PerL and PerL Pro offer personalized audio, the Pro was also built to accommodate lossless audio. For those unfamiliar with the term, it’s songs that haven’t been compressed – as is typically necessary when uploading onto streaming platforms – retaining a higher resolution. It’s the kind of audio that’s been championed by platforms such as Tidal, and even Apple Music is beginning to roll out some lossless tracks.
The PerL offers noise cancellation, though the PerL Pro goes a step further in that regard too with adaptive active noise cancellation, where audio automatically adjusts. The PerL and Perl Pro also pack six and eight hours of charge, respectively, which is extended to 18 and 24 hours with its charging case.
The Denon PerL is priced at $199 USD, while the PerL Pro runs for $349 USD. Both earbuds are available now on the Denon website.
