Arc’teryx wants your gear to last you a long time – a concept driving the opening of its first Alpha store in Toronto. Named after its flagship Alpha jacket, the new outpost will mark what the brand refers to as its “vertical-led strategy,” essentially its aim for customers to get maximum usage out of their buys.

At the store, Arc’teryx will house its largest repair and resale ReBIRD Service Center, where two full-time technicians can repair items on-site, replacing zippers, cords, sliders, locks and buckles, along with both internal and external patches. They’ll also conduct product assessments, such as testing its GORE-TEX for potential leakage.

The brand says that customers can now expect to have their items repaired in just five days compared to the previous 14 days and that 95% of product repairs can be done in-store. It’ll also offer new advanced repairs, from hemming to lamination.

At 9,274 square feet, Arc’teryx plans to use the store – its largest location in Canada – for community events and initiatives.

“As we embark on this new chapter in Arc’teryx’s retail journey with the launch of our new Alpha store format, we are dedicated to investing in the Toronto community and creating a hub for immersive storytelling and engagement,” VP of North America Retail at Arc’teryx Megan Cheesbrough said. “Our growth globally is rooted in community connection, and as a brand born and raised in the BC Coast Mountains, we are committed to meeting our guests where they are while maintaining a true connection to our Canadian roots.

The Arc’teryx Alpha store is slated to open in Toronto sometime this summer.
