Michelle Yeoh Is Set to Star in the TV Sequel Series 'Blade Runner 2099'

Initially announced in 2021, the TV series sequel to Blade Runner 2049 titled Blade Runner 2099, has confirmed Michelle Yeoh for one of the lead roles.
The upcoming Amazon Prime Video series is slated to be both a follow-up to the original 1982 film and the 2017 sequel. In a recent report from Variety, Yeoh is set to play a character called Olwen and is described to be ” a replicant near the end of her life.” Ridley Scott is signed on to be the executive producer alongside David W. Zucker and Clayton Krueger of Scott Free Productions, Alcon Entertainment co-founders Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson and Ben Roberts.
No further details regarding the cast and the plot have been revealed. Yeoh recently won an Oscar for Everything Everywhere All At Once and had just be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. It is uncertain when Amazon Prime Video will release the TV series sequel at the moment. Stay tuned for more information.
