The long-awaited fourth season of Amazon‘s The Boys is officially set for next month. To hold fans over, the studio has released the official trailer for the upcoming season, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect.

The events follow the last season, and it seems that Karl Urban’s Butcher and Antony Starr’s Homelander characters are ready to ruin their own lives just to take everyone else down with them. The official trailer Butcher has revealed to Jack Quaid’s Hughy and Erin Moriarty’s Starlight along with the rest of the Boys that he is running out of time and has very few days left due to his weakened heart. Before he dies, he wants to unleash a deadly virus on the supe community and in order to do so, Butcher is teaming up with a new character played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who seems to share a similar goal, wanting all dupes to be wiped out to save humanity. On the other end of things at Vought HQ, Homelander pushes his team to be come “wrathful gods” against protesting humans.

With only eight episodes of the new season, the description reads, “In Season Four, the world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”
