RIMOWA Joins Forces With La Marzocco for a Limited-Edition Espresso Machine
Combining German and Italian design, engineering and craftsmanship to the aluminium machinery.
RIMOWA is expanding its product offerings with a recent limited-edition collaboration with Italian espresso machinery brand La Marzocco. Continuing to push the boundaries of design, the latest partnerships bridges German engineering with Italian design and craftsmanship for a collaborative espresso machine.
A new design venture between two heritage brands, the collaboration unites ingenuity, craftsmanship, and meticulous attention to detail to the heavy duty travel accessory. The two brands have come together to give a RIMOWA-coded Linea Mini, a professional-grade compact espresso machine distinguished for its technical performance and distinctive design from La Marzocco. RIMOWA’s design signature is seen in the form of grooved aluminium on the machinery.
The espresso machine is a limited edition piece that amplifies RIMOWA’s spirit of innovation. The rest of the espresso machine is designed in silver steel, matching the RIMOWA codes. The limited-edition piece is made in Florence, Italy and requires 40 hours to make. The level of craftsmanship can be seen from the frame, which features both brands’ logos. The design integrates bespoke hot water tap and knobs made in aluminium, emblazoned with RIMOWA and La Marzocco’s iconic monograms. Its custom portafilter is reinterpreted in anodized aluminium, as are its feet.
The collaboration is set to launch during this year’s Milan Design Week, which officially gets underway on Monday, April 15. It’ll be on show at Spazio Maiocchi for the duration of the festival as part of the Capsule Plaza exhibition, which was selected as one of Hypebeast’s must-sees of the week.
Starting on April 15, the RIMOWA x La Marzocoo Linea Mini espresso machine will be ready for pre-order and available on a made-to-order basis.
