Cartier has officially announced its upcoming offerings at the 2024 Watches & Wonders held in Geneva. The Richemont-owned heritage jewelry brand continues to expand its reach into the world of luxury watches with an updated release of classics for the modern world. Amongst the releases include the Privé Tortue Monopoussoir Chronograph, Santos de Cartier Dual Time, Santos-Dumont Rewind, Reflection de Cartier Watch and the Animal Jewellery Watch. Take a look at what each of the watches offer below.

Cartier Privé Tortue Monopoussoir Chronograph

Taking a page from the late ’90s, Cartier is reviving its famous Tortue Monopoussoir silhouette. The watch is highlighted by its Journe-Flageollet-Halter movement and aid set to be available in platinum or yellow gold. Releasing in limited quantities, the watch features a sapphire crystal front and caseback and a grained gold or silvered opaline dial. The watch’s new monopusher chronograph movement measures at 4.3mm in height and is limited to just 200 pieces per metal. The watch comes with a dark blue alligator leather with a yellow gold pin buckle or a red alligator leather and platinum pin buckle.

Santos de Cartier Dual Time

The Santos de Cartier Dual Time sees a contemporary iteration of the classic wristpiece, dedicated to athleticism and a sporty aesthetic. Staying true to its roots as the world’s first custom-made pilot’s, the watch is practical and equipped with the dual-time function, fit for any jet-setter. The novelty of the watch continues to push the boundaries as Cartier’s vision for luxury sports watches. The first of the Santos family to receive dual time, the watch features the iconic Cartier Roman numerals against a sword-shaped minutes and hours hands to complement the railway minute tack. The grey dial stands out against the Roman numerals silver and is 100m water resistant. Arriving in a larger stainless steel case of 40.2mm in diameter, 47.5mm in length and 10.1mm in thickness, the stainless steel automatic watch is brushed and features a polished bezel of eight screws.

Santos-Dumont Rewind

Continuing to grow the Santos family offerings the Santos-Dumont Rewind. The manually wound watch tells time unconventionally with its backwards-running dial. In a striking variation, the undeniably fun-focused vibrant red watch takes playfulness to another level. While it might take some getting used to when reading the backwards horological piece, the release sees a 200-piece run. The 31.5mm Santos-Dumont is encased in platinum and features a sapphire front. Complementing the Carnelian red sunburst dial is the red alligator leather with platinum pin buckle.

Santos-Dumont

Cartier continues to play with color with the release of three new colorways for the Santos-Dumont. A fresh trio of platinum, 18k yellow gold and 18k rose gold case material are complemented with olive green, taupe grey and peacock blue, respectively. Each watch features a dial-matching alligator leather strap featuring a case-matching ardillon buckle. All three watches utilize the Arabic numerals instead of the Roman numerals seen on their predecessors. The manually wound watches have an ultra-thin 430 MC based on the Piaget 430P.

Reflection de Cartier Watch

The Reflection de Cartier truly blends the French house’s luxury and jewelry heritages. Cartier’s own Marie-Laure Cérède has called the watch a “veritable sculpture to wear on the wrist.” Designed to be a crossover between a bracelet and a subtle timepiece all in one, the four models combines precious gems like diamonds, opal, amethysts, garnets and others to aid in the resurgence of the bling-worthy piece. The pieces come in 18k white gold, with optional gem-setting, 18k rose gold and 18k yellow gold. Each o the pieces have a dial in 18k white gold and sandblasted silver. Perhaps one of the most stand out craftsmanship highlighted for this pieces is that the highly polished surface that is facing the dial has a distortion-free reflection.

Animal Jewellery Watch

This year, Cartier expands its animal-inspired creations with a set of more subtle and literal designs. The watches continue a century’s worth of traditions, with the firs watch from Cartier inspired by the panther back in 1914. Combining animalistic elements from the zebra and crocodile, Cartier has created a new pattern that for fully gem-set cases, taking inspiration from its textured skin and unique patterns. Quartz-powered, the watches come in rose, yellow or white gold featuring ruby, garnet, spinel and diamond-setting.

Tiger and Crocodile Jewellery Watch

Continuing to take inspiration from the Animal Jewellery collection, the crocodile and tiger watches take on the distinctive features and cues from the physical anima. The crocodile watch comes in two iterations where one sees the entirety of the body wrap around the pebble-shaped case and rendered in tourmalines, sapphires, emeralds, mother-of-pearl and diamonds. The other sees the head of the crocodile clenching onto the watch with the jaws, similar to that of the tiger watch. With the tiger watch, the stripes are accented with a white gold and yellow and orange sapphire base to complement the black spinels. Set on 18k white gold, the dial is in a sunray brushed gold and has a diamond hour marker.
