Watch the Official Teaser for ‘DAN DA DAN' Anime

The first official teaser video for the highly-hyped DAN DA DAN TV anime has been revealed.

Adapted from Yukinobu Tatsu’s Dandadan, a popular new-generation manga with over 360 million views on Shōnen Jump+ and more than 3.2 million print copies in circulation. A supernatural action-thriller filled with comedic and romantic cues, the premise of Dandadan is both wacky and highly entertaining.

The anime will produced by Science SARU, a studio co-founded by Masaaki Yuasa and and Eunyoung Choi, who are known for their idiosyncratic style and cult animation projects. DAN DA DAN will be directed by Fûga Yamashiro, who’s worked alongside Yuasa on projects such as Tatami Time Machine Blues. Meanwhile, Hiroshi Seko, who’s credited for notable anime like Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man and Attack on Titan: The Final Season will be in charge of scripting.

This is a story about Momo, a high school girl who comes from a family of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun, an occult fanatic. After Momo rescues Okarun from being bullied, they begin talking. However, an argument ensues between them since Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens exist, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts exist.

To prove to each other what they believe in is real, Momo goes to an abandoned hospital where a UFO has been spotted and Okarun goes to a tunnel rumored to be haunted. To their surprise, they each encounter overwhelming paranormal activities that transcend comprehension. Amid these predicaments, Momo awakens her hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse to overcome these new dangers! Their fateful love begins as well!?

Set to premiere in October 2024, DAN DA DAN will be available to watch via global streaming sites Crunchyroll and Netflix.
