Update: We caught an initial glance at a “Slim Reaper”-themed take on the Nike KD 16 earlier this month, and the brand has now officially revealed the sneaker. Following the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities, the colorway is expected to release on March 1 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers at a price of $160 USD. Enjoy a complete visual breakdown of the pair above and review our initial coverage below for more info.

Original Story: The first look at the Nike KD 16 in the “Slim Reaper” colorway has surfaced online. The shoe is named after Kevin Durant‘s nickname he got for his tall, slender build and deadly scoring ability. His way of shooting reminds fans of the Grim Reaper, due to his agility and ability to move around the court. The special edition basketball shoes are slated to make a debut this Spring 2024.

Featuring new performance technology to help KD hone in on his skills, the “Slim Reaper” arrives in a black, red and silver color scheme. The red tones are similar to blood-like splatters across the black overlay. Constructed out of mesh, leather and suede, the Nike and KD logos are prominently placed alongside the TPU overlays, as is the official “Grim Reaper” badge so to ensure the shoe is on theme. The shoe sits atop a black midsole and a icy semi-translucent outsole to round out the design.
