Lil Yachty is one of music’s most experimental characters. Last year, he dropped his most psychedelic album to date, Let’s Start Here, and now, he’s loading up his next project: a collaborative album with British music royalty, James Blake titled Bad Cameo.

In a clip that recently surfaced on social media, Yachty is seen speaking to an unseen person and revealing that he has worked on a collaborative album with Blake. “Granted, I think James has worked with a quite substantial amount of hip-hop artists,” says Yachty. “But this project is just like— it’s so left. For both of us.”

Blake hinted at a collaborative album with Yachty almost a year ago, when he shared a picture of the duo in the studio. But still, Yachty expects the news of his new collaborative project to take fans by surprise. “Aside from that one picture that James posted — which, he doesn’t have many followers, actually — I don’t think people know that we know each other exist. So they’re just going to be like ‘What the f*ck? When did they do this?’” he continued.

Yachty has been on a hot streak with British collaborations as of late. Most recently, the rapper has collaborated with Giggs and has also just teased a collaborative track on stage with Fred again… Now, following his recent announcement on social media — which concludes with “CMYK Presents Bad Cameo, a full-length album by James Blake & Lil Yachty.” — fans are waiting in anticipation for his next transatlantic collab.
