Nissan Unveils Three Custom Builds ahead of Tokyo Auto Salon
Crafted by Nissan Technical College students for the 2025 automotive show.
Nissan Automobile Technical College students are set to make a statement at the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon (TAS) with three unique custom vehicles: the NEO Skyline, Z Lealia and Bluebird Kiwami. Representing the Aichi and Kyoto campuses, these projects reflect both nostalgia and innovation.
Crafted by fourth-year students at the Kyoto campus, the NEO Skyline reimagines the legendary Kenmary Skyline for modern enthusiasts. Based on the CV35 Skyline Coupe, the car balances retro inspiration with contemporary flair. The exclusive “Tomoaki Blue” paint, featuring a pearl finish, captures the spirit of the original bright metallic blue Kenmary while adding a fresh edge.
Another creation from Kyoto’s fourth-year students, the Z Lealia redefines the family car by blending performance and practicality. Built on the M35 Stagea platform, the rear section was skillfully integrated from a Nissan LEAF, while the widened rear fenders mimic the aggressive stance of the Fairlady Z. The bold “Ikazuchi Yellow” finish pays homage to the RZ34 Fairlady Z, making this sports station wagon a standout.
From the Aichi campus, third-year students introduced the Bluebird Kiwami, a luxurious yet sporty revamp of the classic PU11 Bluebird Maxima. With meticulous panel beating and painting over just 2.5 months, the car aims to reflect sophistication with its “Aurora Flare Blue Pearl.” This project demonstrates Gen Z’s vision of a premium sedan that delivers comfort and driving excitement.
