Disney Reveals Special Look At 'Snow White' Sharing New Song "Waiting On a Wish"
Written by Pasek and Paul and performed by Rachel Zegler.
Ahead of the premiere of the Disney‘s live-action Snow White remake starring Rachel Zegler, the studio has shared a special look at the upcoming film, debuting a new original song.
Titled “Waiting On a Wish,” the song is sung by Zegler’s protagonist Snow White and is written by EGOT musical duo Benji Pasek and Justin Paul. While the two are expected to have multiple features on the soundtrack, Disney has shared a teaser clip of Zegler’s character singing the song. The special clip was shared on Christmas Day and shows off Zegler’s vocal range and Pasek and Paul’s musical arrangement. In a Variety profile, director Marc Webb shared that during the filming of the movie, the script supervisor “wept” upon hearing Zegler sing, “But she also has an inherent grace, poise and goodness that reminds me so much of what is essential to Snow White.”
Starring opposite of Zegler is Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. The Seven Dwarfs in the film will be CGI animated as the live-action is slated to follow the same story line as the 1937 version where Snow White is threatened to be killed by the Evil Queen and befriends the Seven Dwarfs after she flees into the forest.
The Snow White live-action films premieres on March 21, 2025.
