Update: Last week, Carpet Company previewed its imminent collaborative model crafted with Vans, surfacing in the form of a new Old Skool silhouette dubbed the Vans Skate Old Skool 36+ by Carpet Company. The official images have since landed and offer a closer look at the clean and colorful collaborative sneaker.
The colorway pays homage to the Style 36’s original yellow and black launch colorway, just elevated with faux croc skin, connecting this Vans x Carpet Company shoe to the scaly Fall 2024 Vans x Carpet Company drop. Each pair – limited to just 1,977 of them – is individually numbered and elevated with subtle details such as embroidered accents, custom Arabic labels, interchangeable Velcro tongue patches and die-cut rubber logos on Vans’ iconic waffle tread.
Arriving alongside the sneakers is a concise apparel capsule, which spans a Baggy Fit Fleece pullover and pants as well as a branded Carpet bag.Take a look at the official images in the gallery above and learn more about the pair in the original story below.
Original Story: Carpet Company and Vans connected a few times throughout recent years, teaming up most recently on dual-minded reworkings of the Vans Skate Cab 4 and Vans Skate Half Cab. The seasoned duo is back once again before the year closes out to deliver one more collaborative recreation of yet another signature Vans silhouette, The Vans Old Skool 36.

The latest collaborative venture between the footwear imprint and Baltimore-based brothers draws inspiration from Vans’ 1977 Style 36 model and is limited to just 1977 pairs. Dipped in a white and yellow colorway, the sneakers feature a black form strip, a red co-branded insignia on the tongue and a silver Carpet Company star on the side of the heel. A yellowed off-white outsole completes the design, with a yellow pull tab attached to the back as well.
Each sneaker’s number out of 1977 is stamped on the inside of the tongue with additional Carpet Company and Vans branding etched underneath.
