BANKS Strips Down 'Goddess' for Its Tenth Anniversary
‘Goddess: Unplugged’ closes out the songstress’ memorable second half of the year.
As she readies for the release of her fifth studio album – Off With Her Head, due in late February – BANKS has lifted the curtain on a new homage to her beloved first studio album, Goddess. An acoustic reimagination of the 2014 album, Goddess: Unplugged strips down ten of the original album’s tracks and spotlights the songstress’ ethereal vocals.
The tracklist features most of the album’s standout cuts, including “Begging For Thread,” “Brain” and “Warm Water.” BANKS announced her plan to revive and remaster Goddess – as well as its corresponding anniversary run of intimate performances around the world – a few months back and was met with communal enthusiasm.

In the time between the anniversary album’s announcement and its drop, the songstress teamed up with Doechii on one of the standout collaborations of the year “I Hate Your Ex-Girlfriend” and dropped the long-awaited “Best Friends.” The Goddess Anniversary Tour just wrapped its run of shows in Australia after making stops in New York City, London and Los Angeles.
“This has truly been a letter from my heart to yours. :’) I hope this album brings you as much joy as it gave me making it. More to come very soon,” she wrote on Instagram.
