Zenga Bros Wants You To Skate on Its Furniture
Presenting a captivating range of convertible pieces including a Ramper Camper van and Lamp Ramp.
Zenga Bros is continuing to push the needle on the intersection of skateboarding and design. Throughout the year, the design collective has honed in on its “Skate Break” series – a lineup of furniture pieces intended for skateboard use. In its latest Skate Break short film, Canadian skateboarder Andy Anderson shows us just how skate-able the brothers’ convertible furniture is, shredding atop a lamp that becomes a rainbow rail and a boardroom table that splits into a pyramid ramp and grind ledge to point out just a few pieces.
“These dream builds are sculptural, skateable objects,” Zenga Bros wrote in a statement. “Whether at home, in the office, or out on the street, any space is transformed by these multi-configuration rejuvenation stations. Why Skate Break? To free the mind and invigorate the body. To excite the modern workspace and transform the world.”
Zenga Bros also places a quarter pipe hip and jump ramp subtly inside two lounge chairs, and presents a camper van – entitled the “Ramper Camper” – that shifts into a mini ramp, wall ride and box jump. The electric micro house truck morphs into a multi-configuration ramp, equipped with a wooden stove and bookshelf.
As for the Desk Ramp, simply pull a level to unlock the desk from its standing position and release a hidden track that transforms into a ramp. The Lamp Ramp, on the other hand, stands at six feet tall and requires a mere pull of a pin to shift the arched stand forward and lower the lamp down to the floor.
“Skate Break is a project extracted straight from the dream realm by the Zenga Bros and brought to reality through their craftsmanship,” added Anderson. “I’ve never had so much fun skating furniture.”
