Resident Advisor and Alpha Industries Link Up for New Party-Inspired Capsule Collection
Paying homage to the “deep connections between broadcasting, electronic music, and alternative subcultures.”
Resident Advisor is a cultural and musical powerhouse across the globe. Founded in Sydney, Australia, in 2001 by Paul Clement and Nick Sabine, the platform was created to provide news and information relating to the Australian dance music scene. Now, Resident Advisor hosts events globally, while teaming up with some of the world’s biggest brands to express itself through new and interesting mediums. Resident Advisor’s journey has now brought it to this point, as it presents a new clothing collection with Alpha Industries titled “MIDNIGHT FM.”
As a whole, the collection is inspired by the grittiness of pirate radio, as “MIDNIGHT FM” takes the form of a fictional station that “serves as an ode to the format’s connection to club culture.” Additionally, the collection pays homage to the deep connections between broadcasting, electronic music, and alternative subcultures — with the collection’s slogan, “Machine Music All Night Long,” being integrated into the line as a further ode to underground music.
Highlights from the collection come in the form of the new Alpha Industries’ MA-1 Bomber Jacket and a pair of custom socks; both inclusions in the capsule are made with the idea of long-standing raves as a focus, ensuring comfortability and style is at the forefront. For the former, it’s designed in a black and grey color scheme and is hit with a collection of Resident Advisor branding. Further “MIDNIGHT FM” branding can also be spotted throughout the jacket, alongside the “Machine Music All Night Long” slogan.
Rounding off the collection, the collaborative socks are crafted with durable materials to ensure the feet of ravers are always cozy, while the splashes of co-branding continue to lean into the themes of electronic dance music that lie at the collection’s core.
