History was made at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards. Hosted by Fat Joe for a third year in a row, last night’s show was stacked with shattered records and singlehanded sweeps.

Kendrick Lamar, nominated for an impressive 11 awards, made history by bringing home eight of those – taking the title in each of the categories in which he was nominated including “Lyricist of the Year,” “Hip Hop Artist of the Year,” “Song of the Year” and “Video Director of the Year.” Megan Thee Stallion was the night’s biggest nominee, scoring 12 nominations albeit going home with zero.

Travis Scott took home the “I Am Hip Hop Award” – for his work as a “visionary artist who continues to push the boundaries of music, culture, and live performance,” per BET’s VP Connie Orlando – while performances came from hip hop heavyweights including 2 Chainz, E-40, Soulja Boy and Roscoe Dash.
