Swatch x OMEGA Return With New Mission to EarthPhase MoonSwatch
Drawing inspiration from the Earth as seen from the Moon.
It’s been a good few months since Swatch and OMEGA have released a new MoonSwatch. Introducing the Mission to EarthPhase, a non-limited Speedmaster-inspired chronograph that arrives in light gray Bioceramic build.
In terms of features and specs, the new reference boasts similarities to the previous MoonSwatch – Mission to the Super Blue Moonphase – but its color scheme is much more reminiscent of the Moonshine iterations from 2023. What truly differentiates this timepiece from its predecessors are the details on its gray dial.
The 10 o’clock sub counter is reimagined as an Earth phase display. In a crescent shape, the indicator showcases a colorful Earth motif as viewed from the Moon itself. The space surrounding the lower end of the crescent is accentuated in a lunar-like texture, completing this concept.
The Moon and the Earth each complete their phases in about 29.5 days but in opposite sequences. So, when we see a full moon from Earth, someone on the Moon would see a “new Earth,” thus why the EarthPhase feature moves in opposite to a regular moon phase.
