Erick The Architect Reflects on His Come-Up on “CA$HMERE TEAR$”
The second single lifted from ‘I’ve Never Been Here Before: The Director’s Cut.’
Erick The Architect has unleashed another single lifted from the forthcoming deluxe edition of I’ve Never Been Here Before. Following up on “Beverly Drive” is “CA$HMERE TEAR$,” a track the rapper calls “dear” to him and hears him reflecting on his career and the cities that played a role in his come-up.
“It talks about New York City at a very specific time period during the late 90s and early 2000s,” he said in a statement.
“Way before my city was heavily gentrified, New York had a cadence and rhythm that really personified the city as one of the most influential places in the world. Growing up, I learned to rap because of my surroundings, which then led me to become a musician. New York City is entirely responsible for all of the success I’ve received over these years, and I couldn’t be more grateful.”
With a release date just a few weeks out, find the full I’ve Never Been Here Before: The Director’s Cut tracklist below, which features five new tracks tacked on to the end of the original album’s lineup.
