Action Bronson and New Balance are toeing the starting line of a new, performance-focused chapter in their partnership with the reveal of the “Baklava Performance Collection,” Bronsolino’s first non-lifestyle footwear and apparel offerings. Consisting of two shoes — the FuelCell Rebel V4 “Foxtrot” and M10 Minimus Trail “Pluto” — plus collaborative apparel, the offerings are brightly-hued takes on some of New Balance’s foremost performance products, infused with the slight touch of whimsy that’s made Bronson’s past collaborations so popular.
The FuelCell Rebel V4, a lightweight road running shoe, opts for earth tones like brown and grey, accented by hits of bright orange, blue, green and red. Meanwhile, the M10 Minimus Trail, a minimalistic off-road running shoe (that garnered some snarky comments when it was first revealed due to the juxtaposition of its slim silhouette and Bronson’s stout legs) largely opts for a variety of blue and grey shades. Apparel, crafted in complementary hues includes jackets, shorts, socks and more.
“Performance is my lifestyle. Every day I train to be a better human being for any obstacle that gets in my way, so I’m able to overcome mentally, physically, emotionally,” Bronson himself said of the collaboration. “Having the right grip on the ground, having your feet steadily placed on the face of the earth is very important to me. I made these shoes because I actually perform. I need them. I need them to train. I need them to run. Yeah, they look amazing, but its all about the performance.”
