Ab-Soul Shares First Single Since 2022, "Squeeze 1st 2"
His first solo endeavor since ‘HERBERT.’
Top Dawg Entertainment‘s Ab-Soul has been rather reclusive as of late, showing out sporadically for some features with fellow TDE rappers Zacari, Ray Vaughn and Jay Rock among a few others. However, Ab is back and has shared his first solo studio single since the release of his acclaimed HERBERT album.
Entitled “Squeeze 1st 2” – presumably a spin on JAY-Z‘s “Squeeze 1st” – the single sees production from Crooklin and clocks in at four minutes. The cut finds Ab more prolific than ever over a jazz-type beat, asserting “Thou shall not f*ck with raw me, or he / Face a thousand deaths From Mr. Herbert Anthony / Steven’s IV full of potent dope / Not a Cuban cigar maker but I want all of the smoke,” on the chorus.
Last month, Ab hopped on his first track of 2024, Kembe X‘s “INTROVERTED EXTROVERT,” which had hip-hop heads vying for a proper Ab return. It looks like it’s here at last.
Stream “Squeeze 1st 2” on Spotify and Apple Music now and stay tuned for more info on Ab’s imminent new releases.
