Acne Studios Men’s FW24 Looks to Denim’s Sexy, Rebellious Nature

Acne Studios is no stranger to doing it all. One day it may offer up light-hearted, cute styles with a touch of modernized Bohemian aesthetics. The next day it may pivot to undeniably sexy sentiments ranging from grunge to sleek eveningwear. Sometimes it even moves to refined notes that blend the classic and contemporary. Well for its men’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection, the vibe is “rebellious, sexy, cool” as it leans into the power and character of denim culture.

For it, Jonny Johansson’s brand fuses notes of the past, present and future to create a revitalized take on the signature styles – referred to as “the modern cyber biker.” The collection is a blend of details revealing oversized and body-hugging silhouettes alongside high-waisted and low-waisted bottoms. Aside from proportion, the wardrobe also showcases the importance of mixed fabrics as hard and soft textiles are seen through leather, denim, faux fur cotton and voile. To keep that biker edge that borrows from the 2000s and the future, the collection is comprised of pieces like cropped shearling jackets, structured jackets, micro tanks, baggy denim, and more – elevated by varying washes, sprayed-on graphics and paint details.

To bring the collection to light, the brand enlisted the help of American musician Yves Tumor – making a match for the rebellious, cool styles. “Yves felt just right for the collection, they are one of those people who are true to their art. They also embody the space age, cyber psychedelic vision and at the same time they are super rock,” said Johansson. “The way they pull a look together feels very in the spirit of the collection. Yves has all these different sides, which to me, represents what a true rebel is: a person you want to be, who doesn’t give a shit but makes immaculate choices.”
