Although Whensmokeclears was officially established in 2016, the brand only recently maneuvered to the runway last summer with the unveiling of its SS24 collection at the multi-designer MADE x PayPal fashion show. The event marked the first runway show for the brand, even though it was a joint affair. Now Whensmokeclears is stepping into bigger territory with its debut solo fashion show during New York Fashion Week for the Spring/Summer 2024 season.

Entitled “Birds Eye,” the collection steps into the NYC streets for inspiration, which is appropriate given the brand’s NYC origins. Specifically, founder/creative directors Thermal Taveras and K$ace offer up a vision of quintessential everyday city style that spans the likes of sportswear and streetwear.

To kick off one’s look, highlights collection tops include a deep blue/black jersey, oversized crewneck sweatshirts with double layering and brand embroidery. Standout bottoms appear in merlot-colored cargo pants with bold goldenrod-hued i.d. tags, short shorts and two-tone leather pants. In addition to singular items, the collection also deposits coordinating sets in denim and leather fabrications alongside a blue/white breakaway tracksuit. To close their solo debut at Spring Studios, Taveras and K$ace sent a deep blue denim-like set with a nearly floor-hugging seamless top down the runway.

Take a look at Whensmokeclears SS24 collection in the gallery above.

In case you missed it, Parsons 2023 MFA Fashion Show overflows with unrestricted creativity.
