Troye Sivan has shared another new song from his forthcoming studio album, Something To Give Each Other. Following the release of the project’s lead single “Rush,” the Australian singer is keeping energy levels high with “Got Me Started.”

Produced by Ian Kirkpatrick, the song samples a cut from fellow Australian duo Bag Raiders, 2008’s “Shooting Stars.” Songwriting was handled by Sivan himself, alongside Leland, Tayla Parx and Kaelyn Behr.

“When we were writing this song, I was emphatic about using “Shooting Stars” — I just kept humming it in the studio. It’s a huge sample and was a big ask; and I knew that they had never approved it in the past,” Sivan said. “So I’m over the moon about the opportunity to sample that track because this song is iconic to me.”

“And then we have Ian Kirkpatrick on production, who is a genius. I love his work – he had this plan to record the vocal at a slower speed and then speed it up, and ultimately that’s what you hear in the chorus. I instantly loved the way it sounded.”

In a recent interview, Sivan shared that “Got Me Started” was one of the first tracks he wrote for Something To Give Each Other. Along with the song, the singer has premiered a music video set at a club in Bangkok, Thailand, an effort that saw him reunite with the “Rush” visual team, including director Gordon von Steiner, cinematographer Stuart Winecoff and choreographer Sergio Reis.
