Solebox loves to go the extra mile when it comes to launching footwear-related initiatives. It will often support major releases with special in-store activations or supplementary products, and its latest project entails a special chessboard that will celebrate the return of the Nike Attack “White/Black” colorway.

In honor of the return of one of John McEnroe‘s OG installments, Solebox modeled this chessboard after its understated color scheme. It calls out the pair’s recognizable checkerboard tongue banners by making the board’s wood leather surface with alternating black and white squares and red lining to reference the bold Nike branding. Additionally, a large “A” with a Swoosh cut-out is stamped on the board and likely speaks to the Attack’s moniker along with subtle paint-splattered marks and an official Nike Attack logo. Packaged with the board are 32 custom acrylic chess pieces. They come in black and white colorways to differentiate between each player and feature poked-out Nike logos, “A” letters and solebox icons.

Solebox and Nike created 10 of these custom sets, two of which were released via an IG raffle. The Nike Attack “White/Black” is set to drop on September 7.
