Kurono Tokyo Introduces Kurono GMT 1 Timepiece
Designed by Hajime Asaoka.
Kurono Tokyo is expanding its catalog with the introduction of its new Kurono GMT 1 timepiece, which marks its first world-time complication.
The new watch was designed by Japanese watchmaker, Hajime Asaoka, and boasts a cleanly enchanting design. As such, the piece includes a robust art-deco design language with circular face segments in silver and black with a subtle pop of merlot. In its refinement, Asaoka designed the watch with the business traveler in mind – blending business and sporty style notes.
“Most GMT watches fall in the sports watch category. However, those who genuinely desire the GMT complication are business travelers,” said Asaoka. “I wanted to incorporate tradition while at the same time reflecting a sense of coordinated modernity. With this in mind, GMT 1 is designed to complement the cuffs of the globetrotting executive in an intellectual manner.”
Additionally, the watch is a finalist in the 2023 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) Awards. This year’s awards will be held on November 9 in Geneva, Switzerland. The limited edition watch is priced at $2,250 USD and will be available for order on Friday, September 8 online at Kurono Tokyo.
