Bleachers Shares First New Music Since 2021 with “Modern Girl”
See Jack Antonoff rock out in an official visual.
Jack Antonoff’s Bleachers has returned with a new track called “Modern Girl.” The release marks the first new music the indie rock band has put out since 2021, as well as the first on their new label, Dirty Hit.
“Modern Girl” is classic Bleachers at their best, layered, group vocals over eclectic instrumentation. The song opens with a literal scream before the band dives into poetic rhymes about partying on a Friday night.
Energy levels stay high in an accompanying music video, directed by Alex Lockett. It’s a heartwarming scene as the band jams out in the studio, genuinely having a good time.
The song also happens to be the first taste of Bleachers’ upcoming fourth studio album, the follow-up to 2021’s Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night. While Antonoff has stayed busy over the years producing for artists such as Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift, Bleachers fans are looking forward to seeing him assume the role of a frontman once again.
