The trailer for the new Apple TV+ documentary series The Enfield Poltergeist is here.

The four-episode series will follow the alleged supernatural activities that took place in Enfield, London in 1977, which eventually became the inspiration for The Conjuring 2. The Enfield Poltergeist will utilize the original audio recordings taken in that house by paranormal investigator Maurice Grosse, and will tell the story using a replica of the house on 284 Green Street in Brimsdown, performers reenacting the incidents that were caught on the audio recordings and present-day interviews with those involved.

“In 1977, the terrifying haunting of an everyday family in Enfield, London, dominated headlines across the United Kingdom and had a tremendous impact on an entire generation of children,” the synopsis reads. “The mysterious case forever changed ideas about the supernatural and that it wasn’t just restricted to castles and stately homes but could be experienced by anyone, anywhere. The chilling story has inspired fictionalized versions of the case, including the film The Conjuring 2, a television series, and two stage plays.”

The original Enfield poltergeist haunted the Hodgson family, more specifically 11-year-old Janet and 13-year-old Margaret. Police, journalists, paranormal investigators and the Hodgson’s neighbors all claimed to have seen furniture moving with no human force, the children levitating off the ground and disembodied voices to name a few, however the incident has also been criticized of being a hoax.

Watch the trailer above. The Enfield Poltergeist premieres October 27 on Apple TV+.

Elsewhere in entertainment, the original showrunner of The Office is reportedly helming the show’s reboot.
