The latest time-teller to be added to the King Seiko collection is the SJE095, a limited-edition timepiece sporting an intricately patterned dial.

In 2022, Seiko officially revived its King Seiko collection after testing the waters with a limited re-issue back in 2020. Since then, the watchmaker continue to expand the line with the SJE089 and SJE091 compact models.

The latest release marks the first of the modern-day King Seiko watches to house a unique patterned dial. Starring a chrysanthemum pattern on a white dial plate, the reference is intended to capture the spirit of Tokyo while also nodding to its Japanese heritage. As the chrysanthemum is one of the national flowers of Japan, it carries an air of auspiciousness as it’s associated with themes of longevity and rejuvenation. The specific pattern draws influence from a form of traditional cut glass, known as “Edo Kiriko.”

The SJE095 is presented in a 38.6mm stainless steel case, accompanied by applied indices, a tonal handset, and a 3 o’clock date window. On the center of its caseback, the watch is engraved with the King Seiko crest, alongside its unique batch number. On a technical note, the timepiece rungs on the 6L35 caliber, geared with 45 hours of power reserve and 5 bars of water resistance.

Due to release in October, the 600-piece limited-edition reference is expected to retail at around £3,000 GBP (approximately $3,829 USD). For more information, visit Seiko’s official website.

Elsewhere in watches, ID Genève expands its Circular S series with a summery yellow dial.
