Medicom Toy Kits the BE@RBRICK Out in a Full Nike Tech Fleece Sweatsuit
Sheisty not included.
It’s been 10 years since Nike first shook up the sweatsuit game with the introduction of Tech Fleece, a slimmer, stretchier, more breathable, more athletic-looking, and, well, more technical iteration of the classic fleece tracksuit. In the decade since then, Tech Fleece has become a top choice for London-based roadmen, New York City drill rappers and even Drake, not to mention what seems like every Nike Sportswear customer in between. Now, however, Tech Fleece is entering a new realm: the BE@RBRICK market. Medicom Toy is set to launch a new BE@RBRICK decked out in a full heather grey Tech Fleece fit that pays homage to the Tech Fleece sweatsuit’s original launch colorway from 2013.
The special figure is presented in 1000%, 400% and 100% sizes, with the two larger iterations clothed in a bespoke Tech Fleece sweatsuit complete with ear coverings and a functional zipper. If one Tech Fleece wasn’t enough, both the 1000% and 400% also have the same sweatsuit printed directly on their body underneath (layering your Tech Fleece is not quite the same as layering popped collar polos in the ’00s, but it’s not far off). The 100% figure, on the other hand, does away with the authentic sweatsuit in favor of a standalone direct-to-body print. It’s hard to tell what shoes the figures are wearing, but the color scheme indicates that it may be the Air Max 1 “University Red.”
If you’re looking to scoop one of these unique figures for yourself, they should be releasing at Japanese retailers in the coming weeks. Info on a global release has yet to be announced. The 1000% figure retails for ¥74,800 JPY (approximately $516.42 USD) while the 400% and 100% figures, sold as a set, retail for ¥24,200 JPY (approximately $167.08 USD).
