Red Star FC Celebrates 125 Years of History With Its New Home and Away Jerseys
Using artificial intelligence to create the designs based on old jerseys and team photos.
Kappa and Red Star FC have unveiled their new home and away kits for the 2023/24 season and they celebrate Red Star’s 125 years of history with a futuristic edge.
Taking a different approach for this season’s kit creations, Red Star and Kappa worked in collaboration with UVL Studio, a creative studio that specializes in artificial intelligence. With this in mind, the campaign for the two new kits takes images from Red Star’s archives, feeding snaps of old team photos and jerseys into AI. This allowed it to build a foundation for the two shirt designs that take inspiration from the club’s past.
The end result created two striped kits, with both of the designs referencing key features from Red Star jerseys from the past. The home kit is created with a bright shade of green, while black lines alternate with white stripes along the front. Additionally, the collar is then hit with an understated hue of black, bisected by a red stripe.
Meanwhile, the collared away kit has been created with a white base and airbrushed stripes that cover the entire jersey in different shades of blue. The Kappa logo and customary club crest are then used to round off the design in a way that stands out against the jersey’s unique color scheme.
