Bonhams Previews Upcoming Watches and Wristwatches Auction Lineup
Spotlighting a black dial Rolex Daytona and a gem-encrusted Piaget cuff watch.
In a month’s time, a delectable collection of time-telling novelties will be going up for auction at Bonhams Watches and Wristwatches sale. The lot comprises classic, contemporary, and rare gem-set timepieces from prestigious Maisons such as Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Vacheron Constantin, Piaget, and IWC.
On offer is the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 6265 circa 1973, which features a sought-after sigma black dial with contrasting white gold baton indices. One of the main talking pieces of the sale is the 2012 Patek Philippe ref. 5140P-001, a sophisticated reference arriving in a platinum case and equipped with a perpetual calendar on a sunburst blue dial.
Other noteworthy novelties include a Rolex Submariner “Starbucks,” a Glashütte Original Star Autumn Leaf watch with a mother-of-pearl dial, and an unusual Piaget 18k white gold cuff watch that’s set with diamonds, emeralds, and rubies in a net-like construction.
“The Watches and Wristwatch sale includes some sought-after lots and represents some of the leading names of desirable watches. We look forward to presenting the horological selection to our clients,” notes Jonathan Darracott, Bonhams’ Global Head of Watches.
Bonhams Knightsbridge’s Watches and Wristwatches auction is due to take place on coming September 13. More details will be unveiled via the dedicated webpage on Bonhams’ website at a closer date.
