Eastside Golf Welcomes an Air Jordan 1 Collab Into Its "1961" Collection
The kicks feature fairway-friendly green accents and the golf imprint’s moniker written in all-over fashion across the Swooshes.
UPDATE: Eastside Golf is gearing up for another collaborative project with Jordan Brand following last year’s “Out The Mud” Collection. This time around the theme is “1961,” denoting the year that the PGA lifted its ban on non-white players, a pertinent message for the two brands’ given their emphasis on cultivating diversity in golf. Now, official images have surfaced of the AJ1 High G in the limited edition green and black colorway. The pair will release on September 8 and retail for $200 USD.
As the audience and appeal of golf continues to grow, so does Jordan Brand‘s initiatives around the sport. Collaborative footwear and apparel efforts have been a focus for MJ’s sub-label, many of which have been executed alongside Eastside Golf. And this season, the duo is teaming up for a special “1961” Collection that includes new footwear offerings like this newly-emerged Eastside Golf x Air Jordan 1 installment.
The shoe’s palette is reminiscent of the sport’s landscape as a fairway-inspired green touches up the perforated toe boxes, lower heel overlays, ankle flaps and Swooshes, the latter of which features repetitive “Eastside Golf” branding written out in cursive font. The ball-and-wings logos are splashed with a hint of metallic gold while the word “Change” is debossed into the lateral heels in all-black text. Instead of the traditional Nike tongue branding, Eastside Golf implements its signature icon into the tongue banners. From there, laces, quarter panels, nylon tongues and overlays adjacent to the toe boxes come dripped out in black.
