The Microphone That Cardi B Threw at an Audience Member Is Being Auctioned for Charity
With the current bid almost reaching $100,000 USD.
The microphone that Cardi B threw at an audience member during her recent show at Las Vegas’ Drai’s is now being auctioned for charity.
According to TMZ, the mic is being auctioned off by The Wave, the audio production company that provided the sound system for Drai’s that day. Owner Scott Fisher explained that the microphone is still in working condition and was easily spotted by his team after the incident as it features a white tape underneath that reads “MAIN.”
The mic, which costs $1,000 USD, was originally listed on eBay for $500 USD and currently has a bid of $97,300 USD. Fisher nots that the proceeds will be divided for the Wounded Warrior Project and Friendship Circle Las Vegas, the latter of which focuses on teenagers and young adults with special needs.
The Shure Axient digital microphone became Cardi’s weapon of choice when an audience member threw a cup of liquid and ice at her in the middle of a performance. The rapper is now being investigated for battery by the authorities as the woman who was allegedly hit by the microphone filed a police report.
Elsewhere in music, Lizzo has been accused by former tour dancers for sexual harassment and fostering a hostile work environment.
