It’s no secret that Post Malone is a major fan of Magic: The Gathering, the beloved artist has openly shared his adoration for the trading card game, released his own collaboration, and is the proud owner of the ultra-rare black-and-white artist proof Black Lotus card, which he paid $800,000 USD. Adding to his collection and becoming one if not the biggest collectors in Magic: The Gathering, Post Malone bought The One Ring card from The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-Earth set from Magic: The Gathering’s “Universes Beyond” series.

The 1/1 card was sought after by fans of the game for months, reaching $1 million USD before the collector boosters were even released. The special thematic variant of Sauron’s Ring was found in June by Joshua Brook. Brook initially remained anonymous with the acquirement of the card officially confirmed by PSA noting it graded the card nine out of a possible ten scale. The odds of finding the card from the set were roughly noted as one in 3 million.

Purchased for a staggering $$2,600,000 USD, Joshua Brook shared a video of his meeting with Post Malone where the card was exchanged. Brook wrote in an accompanying caption, “When I found the One Ring, the first person who came to mind was @postmalone I have played MTG since I was a kid and obviously it would be amazing to keep this card. But for a guy like me, being able to sell it is life changing. I just really hoped it would go to someone who would appreciate it as much as I do. This is my dream come true, meeting @postmalone and him buying the One Ring card from me is literally a moment straight out of a fairytale. @postmalone @wizards_magic you have changed my life. Things like this don’t happen to people like me, I guess it’s magic. I am forever grateful.”
