Featuring the school’s branding at the tongue and insole.
Boston College is soon to get its own New Balance 550, a homegrown collaboration considering New Balance is a Boston-based brand. The “Boston College” colorway features a classic and almost vintage style varsity look that nods to Boston’s academic and sports legacy.
The shoe is primarily made up of a white leather upper with perforated side panels and features subtle touches of grey mesh and suede at the heel, accents of red throughout and a small hit of “Vegas Gold” outlining the N logo and featured in the Boston College branding at the tongue.
Additional design elements include a “Cardinal” red mesh liner, Boston College branded insoles and a white midsole on top of a grey rubber outsole, featuring a subtle single line of red stitching.
The silhouette represents New Balance’s deep ties to its city and a nod to one of its most highly revered Colleges. Retail for the New Balance “Boston College” 550 is expected to be $120 USD, although, at the time of writing, an exact release date has not been announced, so keep an eye on the brand’s official channels for more information soon.
