The original 1987 animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is headed to Nickelodeon, according to Variety.

The television network has acquired the rights to the famous Fred Wolf series, just before Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is scheduled to hit theaters. The series, which ran from 1987 to 1996, follows Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo through a slew of adventures across 193 episodes.

In the deal, Nickelodeon will house the entire series on its digital outposts, including YouTube, Pluto TV and O&O linear channels. The decades-old series will debut later this month in the U.S., before landing on Nickelodeon’s international platforms soon after.

The news was revealed art San Diego’s Comic-Con, during a panel supporting Paramount Pictures’ Mutant Mayhem. “We just found out today — this is breaking news — Nickelodeon and Paramount have secured the rights to broadcast the original cartoon series,” said franchise co-creator Kevin Eastman at the event. “[It was] the beginning. The first time those characters came to life with voices and movement, and Chuck Lorre wrote an amazing theme song for us back in the day before he was Chuck Lorre. It’s so fantastic. We’re so excited to announce this, so congratulations to all of us. We get to see it again!”

Nickelodeon has not announced an official release date for the series.

In more entertainment news, Warner Bros. is considering pushing its Dune and Aquaman sequels as the Hollywood labor strikes continue.
