A month after announcing his new album Playing Robots Into Heaven, James Blake has dropped “Loading”, the second cut off the forthcoming LP.

The English artist first hinted at “Loading”‘s release with an Instagram post last week. While the album’s lead single “Big Hammer” leans into more fast-paced dubstep influences, “Loading” is a more subdued, yet still synth-infused, track. Blake dropped “Big Hammer” at the end of June in alignment with his announcement of Playing Robots Into Heaven.

Blake also shows off his vocals on “Loading”, tapping into his impressive falsetto that meshes seamlessly with the song’s melancholic melody. “Wherever I go, I’m only as good as my mind / Which is only good if you’re mine / Which is only good if you’re mine,” he opens, as the electronic-inspired beat builds behind. His vocal vulnerability continues on the refrain, as he croons: “Where are my wings? / They’re loading / They’re loading / They’re loading.”

Playing Robots Into Heaven, which will be Blake’s sixth studio album, will hit streaming on September 8, coming two years after Blake’s last LP, Friends That Break Your Heart. Apple Music lists the tracklist for Playing Robots Into Heaven as follows:

1. Asking To Break
2. Loading
3. Tell Me
4. Fall Back
5. He’s Been Wonderful
6. Big Hammer
7. I Want You To Know
8. Night Sky
9. Fire The Editor
10. If You Can Hear Me
11. Playing Robots Into Heaven

“Loading” is now available to stream on Spotify and Apple Music.
