Fiorucci Heads Back to Milan With New CEO, Investor, and Creative Director in Tow
“Our mission now is to revive that uniquely playful attitude and reshape its disruptive heritage in order to inspire a new generation.”
Daniel W. Fletcher‘s tenure at the heritage Italian House Fiorucci saw the British designer revive the brand from the dead, bringing archival inspiration and a London touch to the heritage label. Now, following Fletcher’s departure, Fiorucci is heading home to Milan with a new investor, CEO, and Creative Director in tow.
CEO Alessandro Pisani, and Creative Director Francesca Murri — who has worked within various teams at Houses such as Versace, Gucci, Givenchy, and more recently Ferragamo — will work together to bring a process of “creative reconstruction.” This is made possible thanks to its new investor Dona Bertarelli, who will help take Fiorucci back to its home.
Speaking on the transition, CEO Pisani said: “Fiorucci is one of the greatest protagonists in the history of Italian fashion. Its founder Elio Fiorucci ignited a positive cultural disruption that democratized style across the world and became entwined with progressive popular art forms from visual arts to music. Our mission now is to revive that uniquely playful attitude and reshape its disruptive heritage in order to inspire a new generation.”
Murri’s first collection for Fiorucci will be shown at Milan Fashion Week this September. Stay tuned to Hypebeast for more information and collection releases, as news unfolds.
