Burna Boy has made history once again as the first African artist to ever sell out a stadium in the United States.

According to reports, the Love, Damini musician set the new record during his July 8 headlining show in New York City’s Citi Field where he sold out the 41,800-seater stadium. Burna Boy performed cuts from his last four records Love, Damini, Twice As Tall, African Giant and Outside, and even brought out Dave for a live rendition of their Pyschodrama collab “Location.”

In April 2022, Burna Boy also became the first Nigerian artist in history to headline Madison Square Garden. Love, Damini, which was released a few months after his MSG performance, set a new record of becoming the highest debut of an African album on the Billboard 200 chart and gave the artist a GRAMMY nomination for Best Global Music Album.

Elsewhere in music, Drake confirmed a new Nicki Minaj collab on For All the Dogs.
