Arsène Wenger To Be Honored With Statue Outside the Emirates Stadium
Celebrating the Arsenal FC legend’s 22-year stint as head coach.
Former Arsenal FC manager, Arsène Wenger, is soon to have his very own statue unveiled outside the Emirates Stadium.
The North London club — which just fell short of winning the Premier League title last season — has been working on Wenger’s bronze statue for some time now, with fans expecting the model to be officially presented to coincide with The Gunner’s 20th anniversary of its Invincible season.
The first official viewing of the statue is expected to be released via a digital unveiling in the coming weeks, with Wenger later attending a private ceremony with friends, family, and several players and members of staff involved in Arsenal’s historic Invincible season.
Having coached Arsenal’s first team for 22 years, Wenger’s biggest achievement came in the 2003/04 campaign, when his team went unbeaten for an entire season. This record still remains one of football’s biggest-ever achievements and continues to remain a major part of Arsenal FC’s history as one of the most decorated clubs in English football.
The unveiling of Wenger’s statue will follow other presentations from the past, with the likes of Dennis Bergkamp, Theirry Henry, Tony Adams, and Herbert Chapman all receiving their own statues outside the Emirates Stadium, as a sign of remembrance for their legendary status in an Arsenal jersey.
