The Nike Roshe Run Has Returned
And it’s only $5 USD more than it was in 2012.
2012 was an interesting time for fashion. Topman Rihanna T-shirts, ripped skinny jeans, and a pair of Nike Roshe Run sneakers on foot, and you were the epitome of an early 2010’s streetwear kid. Now, the Roshe is back in stores for the very first time.
Where the Roshe was a no-frills, running-inspired lifestyle shoe that caught on with sneakerheads looking for something sleek and light from the Swoosh when it first dropped, this time around it appears to be a budget-friendly option. Sources at Nike indicate to Hypebeast that the brick-and-mortar retail re-release of the Roshe will begin at Nike’s “Unite” stores (AKA outlet stores), a sensible home for the budget-friendly model, while select colorways are also available online. A lot’s changed in the world of sneakers since the Roshe first took it by storm, but sneaker lovers will be happy to know that the Roshe’s price has hardly budged: it’s available for a palatable $75 USD, only $5 USD more than its original MSRP.

If you weren’t up on the Roshe when it first dropped more than a decade ago, it came to market in 2012, and as quickly as it amassed popularity, it was equally erased promptly from the retail shelves come 2014. While the shoe was loved by many for its affordable price point and simplistic runner style, echoing the attitudes of the more expensive Nike Flyknit Racer that was also hugely popular at the time, it lost its momentum to sneakers like the Ye-approved adidas UltraBOOST. The likes of Four Pins saw the Roshe Run as a meme, likening the pair with “the most swagless homie.”
