Vault By Vans Links With INVINCIBLE For Gnarly Authentic and Sk8-Hi Collabs
INVINCIBLE and Vans’ first-ever collaboration.
Vans describes its Vault by Vans sub-label (which will soon change its name to OTW by Vans) as the place that they “keep the good sh*t.” That means archival re-releases and high-heat collabs with key partners like Taiwan’s INVINCIBLE, who just teamed up with VBV for the first time to create distinctive and distressed versions of the Sk8-Hi and Authentic.
The two classic Vans silhouettes remain intact – but each shoe’s standard detailing, not so much. The Sk8-Hi’s upper is decked out in a distressed paisley pattern, giving it a weathered look. In cohesion with the original Sk8-Hi, however, the collab sits atop a white midsole, complete with a signature Vans black stripe. The Authentic proves a sneaker is more than just what meets the eye. Appearing all-black at first glimpse, it reveals a hidden paisley patchwork pattern upon wear and tear, encapsulating how a skate shoe transforms with wear.

In a recent Instagram post, INVINCIBLE gave more detail on the project’s inspiration, equating each silhouette’s distressed style as a “tribute to skateboarding and the process of a skater’s “gnarly” growth.” Check out more photos in the gallery and Instagram post above.
The Vault by Vans x INVINCIBLE collection will be available exclusively at INVINCIBLE locations on July 1, followed by a release in Vault By Vans stores on July 8.
