Berlin-based Ulises Design Studio Reimagines the Caravan

Caravans aren’t usually thought of for luxury. At best, they provide a finicky bed to sleep on, a tiny, albeit adequete shower and kitchen to cook with and the bare necessities for life on the road. The nomadic life may be getting a massive overhaul in the coming years, however, as a series of new AI-generated moodboards created by Berlin-based Ulises Design studio shows what the caravan could be.

Created using AI tool Midjourney, many of these ‘dream’ caravans are almost like moving watchtowers, complete with living rooms, studying quarters, bedrooms and even a rooftop terrace. Each is created using a different aesthetic preference, from a vehicle designed with modernist sensibilities to a retro-futuristic vibe.

It’s fairly obvious to note, it would be impossible to drive these in any modern city — imagine trying to go under an overpass or changing one of the tires. But at the heart of the series, dubbed Kinetic Kingdoms, is a rethinking of community-based living. “By embracing a more nomadic lifestyle, we can explore new ways of living that are both exciting and sustainable, all while fostering a sense of community and connection with the world around us,” said Ricardo Orts, the studio’s founder, in a statement.
