Tokyo-based label JULIUS continues to evolve the space of avant-garde fashion whether it be through restructured bliss or dystopic stylings. The brand’s latest collection for the Pre-Spring 2024 season does a little bit of both – offering a renovated lesson in layering.

Entitled [ scalene; ] the most prominent features of the collection’s elaborate garments stems from the use of multiple fabrications like fur, cotton, wool, terry cloth, nylon and denim. Coupling the range of fabrics with financial layering, and there exists an artful fusion of feel and form. Pieces like wool or fur coats complement relaxed trousers as subtle asymmetrical detailing adds an extra touch.

Overtly street-ready pieces like cargo pants are remixed with drop-crotch detailing and paired with relaxed jackets, draped tops and wrap-around flannels. Other standout pieces include cape-like free-moving tops, draped tops with trains and cropped jackets with fur detailing.
