Hilder Baci Breaks World Record for Longest Cook-A-Thon
Topping the Guinness World Record at 100 hours.
Renowned chef and TV personality Hilder Baci has just broken the Guinness World Record for “longest cooking time” by an individual.
Baci has been cooking at Nigeria’s Amore Gardens for the past four days, ending at 100 hours. Since she turned on her cooker, thousands of local fans, including President Muhammadu Buhari, have delivered their support.
Throughout her attempt for the longest cook-a-thon, Baci prepared numerous cultural African dishes, such as long-grain Jollof rice. The chef had five-minute breaks every hour and a one-hour resting period after 12 for sleep, medial checks, and more. Ahead of official confirmation, Guinness World Records praised her attempt and is reviewing all evidence to confirm the record.
The achievement was previously set by Indian chef Lata Tondon in 2019, held for 87 hours and 45 minutes.
